Week 9 Run 2

β€’26 Replies

Finally got some proper running trainers!!

Also got some 2 in 1 running shorts.

I almost feel like a professional πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Run went well ( week 8 took me over a month due to injury after running in walking shoes πŸ™„)

Legs felt like I had lead weights attached to them though!!

Looking forward to the graduation then I plan on sticking to the 30minute run for a week or until it gets a little easier.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Great job Dave, especially in walking shoes... blimey. I bet those running shoes had you checking you’d remembered to put them on!

Haha. Yes absolutely. I was running with a spring in my step!

Fantastic Dave! No way I could have even done W1 in running shoes! πŸ˜…

Good luck with your graduation run - you’ll smash it in your new runners. πŸ™Œ Consolidating for a while with the 30 minute runs is good. Your pace will sneak up gradually.

Keep running! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜€

Way to go mate. 30 minutes running between you and a badge.

Massive well done - especially without light shoes. Enjoy your graduation - you'll proper smash it 😊

Well done Daveb88! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I graduated last week and have been doing consolidation runs. I’m going to stick to 30 min or 5k runs until it gets easier and then I’m considering listening to Laura’s C25K+ podcasts.

You’re almost there! πŸ˜€

β€’ in reply toVix_yp

Sounds like a plan!! It might sound like a silly question but where would I find the c25k+ podcast??

I keep looking for 2-1 running shorts . ( I also think they look professional πŸ˜‚) I must invest in them . Well done on the running

β€’ in reply toDeborahchick46

πŸ˜‚haha. Yeah so professional!! The back pocket is rubbish though (won’t fit my iPhone 8 Plus in it!!) so I had to run with it in my hand. They do however help stop any form of chafing, which as we all know is horrid.

what you need is a arm band for your phone and then you will be truly professional πŸ˜‚.

β€’ in reply toDeborahchick46

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ yeah I did think about one of those. πŸ™„

I have a tiny bum bag that just fits my phone in nicely

β€’ in reply toSANDI_runs

I have seen these fabric bum bags that go all around the wait. Bum bags just remind me of when I used to go on family holidays to France. My dad always had one. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

You know it’s mandatory to post a picture of your new shoes so we can all drool over them?

A graduation run pic next time too.

Well done you.

Thank you! Yes will have to post one of my tired red face! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

My graduation run is this Sunday so at the same stage - can't wait to finish! I've just ordered some proper running shoes as my son laughed at my current trainers. Think I will wear them once I've graduated as a 'well done'! And buy some better shorts - all the gear, no idea!!

I haven't measured how far I have run yet as too focussed on the time. I'm sure it's not 5k so next step to focus on distance? Any recommended App to use?

Absolutely. I’m a bit like that - all the gear no idea, I guess we just run? 😁

A lot of the people have said on here to focus more on the time rather than distance at least until you know what the crack is. I use the Endomondo app which is quite good and the basic one is free. I start it when I start the c25k app.
