Completed it... Yehaaa!! I actually felt ok. No wellies this time. Weather was damp and blustery and felt cool on my face, but some how invigorating. Had to avoid a couple tractors but that was all the hazards.

This is all very new to me I’ve never run in my life, not really built for it, but a significant half century approaching I felt I had to get a grip. I can’t actually believe I will be able to run 5k in 9 wks but this first run of week 2 has definitely given me hope.

Go you! Lovely positive post, and doesn’t it feel great? Running is so uplifting and, like you, I’d never done any before properly, I too am not built for it (5’3 with short pins!) and I’m mid 50’s!! Lose/lose I thought. Wrong, I LOVE it and so will you!

Don’t get hung up on the 5k goal. Think more of aiming for the 30 minutes of running 3 times a week.

Happy running! 😀😀😀

Yes! Well done, you. Like you, I thought, "this is not for me". But feel really up for it now. I'm right behind you! (Still in week 1).

Stick with it, you can and will be running for 30 minutes without stopping. Keep it slow and steady and you will get there. Good luck!
