Completed it... Yehaaa!! I actually felt ok. No wellies this time. Weather was damp and blustery and felt cool on my face, but some how invigorating. Had to avoid a couple tractors but that was all the hazards.
This is all very new to me I’ve never run in my life, not really built for it, but a significant half century approaching I felt I had to get a grip. I can’t actually believe I will be able to run 5k in 9 wks but this first run of week 2 has definitely given me hope.

Go you! Lovely positive post, and doesn’t it feel great? Running is so uplifting and, like you, I’d never done any before properly, I too am not built for it (5’3 with short pins!) and I’m mid 50’s!! Lose/lose I thought. Wrong, I LOVE it and so will you!
Don’t get hung up on the 5k goal. Think more of aiming for the 30 minutes of running 3 times a week.
