Running in the rain

Hi there folks long time lurker here. A lot of the posts on here got me through so thanks to all of you for that. Graduated in June on C25K and took a few weeks to get to 5k in 35m. Away for summer and have not ran in 8

Weeks so taking a while to get up and going again. Miraculously even though I ran every other morning for the entire program it never rained once - unusual for Belfast. In need to buy a lightweight jacket to wear that won’t be sweaty or too ‘Noisy’ if you know what I mean. Don’t want to spend a fortune any ideas appreciated thanks

I need that too and I’ve read we need something breathable otherwise we’ll be wetter on the inside than out! I thought i lucky with no rain but I’m in east anglia! Belfast is impressive! Congratulations on your graduation and hope you get back up to whatever speed you enjoy very soon. I’m guessing you’re a teacher with that length of holiday!! 😆😆

I’ve just ordered an ASICS running jacket. Will have to see how noisy it is. States it’s breathable, windproof & water repellent. Only paid £27 in the sale free delivery too.

Let us know how it works out thanks it sounds like a good deal. I had been looking at an ASICS accelerate but would like to try before I buy

The accelerate looks good. Maybe a bit more substantial than the one l have purchased. Like you, l would have preferred to try before l buy

Hi Doley99. In response to trialling my ASICS jacket. Well this morning it was raining, that horrible stuff that gets you soaked through. Jacket kept me dry & not too noisy to run in. However l think l should have gone for a waterproof rather than the shower resistant jacket. Think it will be fine for the autumn but winter may require something waterproof

Thanks for the update and glad you managed to keep the rain off you. I’ve taken a punt on an ‘impossibly light ‘ Nike running jacket. £25 on fleabay. I will let you know how it works. Gotta admit though,it’s shower resistant too rather than waterproof.
