Just completed week 8 and had my first run in the rain! That must mean we have had great weather for 8 weeks! I cannot believe I am starting the last week on Monday! I actually don’t want it to end and I know I will need something to motivate me to continue. What do you finishers do to keep going? Is there another app? 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️ I won’t have managed 5k by the end of next week but hope to increase to eventually get there in time 😁
Running in the rain!: Just completed week 8 and... - Couch to 5K
Running in the rain!

Congratulations on your progress! Almost over the line now.
For me personally it was parkrun that kept me going. In those early days after C25K I did lose motivation and my mid-week runs got shorter, but parkrun, even if I had to walk some of it, kept me going.
Now sadly parkrun is not allowed to run right now, but there are freedom runs (run / walk / skip / hop a 5k at a parkrun course anytime and log it on their website) and (not)parkrun (run / walk etc a 5k any place any time and log it at parkrun) which can be fun. I only do 1 hard 5k a week and do that Saturday and log it as a (not)parkrun. Not quite the same as parkrun but it is a bit of fun.

I was looking for an app/group too and it seems everyone joins the Bridge to 10K. It’s a bit intimidating looking at their success but no different to how I felt as a newbie on here and the support is the same! Have a look and good luck with the rest of your programme! 🤞🏼

Oh gosh I’ve had to run in thunderstorms ⛈ over the last couple of weeks! I have clearly not been graced with your weather 😂.
Did you enjoy the rainy run? I thought I’d hate it but I actually prefer it

I liked that it kept me cool but it got a tad blustery! Prefer the rain to the extreme heat 🥵

Great running. After the plan, and some consolidation, there’s plenty to do... going to 5k seems to be a logical next step, then you can do a race for life, parkrun, or similar once events are up and running (sic) again... what better way to celebrate? Then there’s things like 10k or further, biathlon, triathlon, or a thousand and one other activities where your new fitness level will enable you to perform. With running alone there’s many journeys to go on and adventures to be had.

I plan my routes out and challenge myself with distance as opposed to time 😊

Congrats on completing week 8, on to graduation week 😊. I won’t be at 5k either when I finish so, during consolidation weeks (or however long it takes, I’m a bit of a snail 🐌 pace 😊) I plan keep increasing by 5 mins each week till I get to 5k, just like we’ve been increasing with this program.
That way it will still give something to aim for. I know there is a bridge to 10k but I don’t feel ready for that just yet, maybe when I’ve hit the magic 5k 😊 and my 🐌 has progressed a bit 😂. Good luck for next week 🍀.

That was my aim too. To carry on with the consolidation runs until I could do 5k in the 30 mins. Lots of help on the consolidation runs out there. Happy running next week. 😎
