I was due to do w4r1 this morning but i have right hip pain that is getting worse and now i am having ibroprofen to try and help it. I will delay the run until tomorrow morning and i am going to sweatshop to get a gait analysis done and buy some proper running shoes. I hope this will sort my hip out. It will not beat me! :(

Hi AJ, I have arthritis in my hip. Make sure you stretch well after running and ibuprofen is anti-inflammatory which will help. There is a fiendish device called a ‘physio roller’ that is unbelievably painful to use - but in a good way! It irons out any muscle knots, and is great for the ITB, which is a band of soft tissue that supports your core and hips. I also pay attention to how I run and I engage my core, as you do in Pilates. I certainly notice when fatigue sets in. So with the gait analysis, and all the above I just finished an 8km run this morning in just over an hour. It can be done, don’t worry 😁👍

Thanks for your reply. I found the gait analysis brilliant and was in the running shop for an hour. Looking forward to try out my new shoes. Well done on the 8k.
