I did the couch to 5K thing and now run regularly three time a week for thirty minutes. Recently I have experienced hip pain especially early in the morning on the morning after running. Do I need better trainers? Should I ignore it? Should I run less? I'm in good health correct weight and 59 years old.

hip pain
I started getting knee pain (in one knee) the day after runs, round about week 8. I found I have a tendency to turn one foot outwards towards the end of the run. If I concentrate on not doing that I don't get the pain, so I haven't been to the doctor. New pain is always a warning. If you can trace the source and put it right, fine. If not - see the doctor.
Hi .. I'm on week seven and have hip pain. I went to the doctors and he said it was a pulled muscle. I've bought a foam roller.. Only used it twice so not sure if it's working but I can definetly feel it massaging the tissue. It doesn't hurt when I run, but it hurts afterwards. I would just go get it checked and if it is muscle and you don't already have a roller maybe you should purchase one and give it a whirl.... Good luck
I'd start with the shoes. If you go to a running shop (eg Sweatshop) you get your gait analysed to you end up with shoes that suit you. You can ignore their expensive insoles sales pitch and just go for the shoes
Once your shoes are sorted then if you're still having hip pain then you can address it. Try running on the trails now and again rather than just on Tarmac and concrete
I don't want to worry you unecessarily, but it could be a stress fracture. Does it hurt when you're running, or when you're walking on it the day after?
I'm fine when I'm running but I wake next morning with a pain which goes away as I get moving.
