I think I must have tempted fate when responded to another runner on here by telling them that week 6 is the hardest week. Today was week 8 run 2 and I have absolutely no clue how I managed to do it. By eight minutes I needed desperately to stop for a walk break but I just couldn't bear to give in. I lost control of my breathing at ten minutes and had a mini-panic but luckily I started back down the hill that was causing some of the issues. Managed to slow right down, while still running, and get my breathing under control. At the halfway point I decided to change my route to avoid any kind of hill and get on with it. I hated every minute of the last 14. Finished it, but not on a high.
That came later! I realised I'd run 4.2k in 28 minutes even though I found it terribly tough. I'm proud of myself. I remembered what I said to so many other people on here about the tough runs making the runner. Onwards and upwards, people!

Wow it's the tough ones that make us stronger.. and you pushed and got to where you needed to be! That's fighting spirit! You deserve to feel proud!!! I'm going to try and get back out tomorrow..should be on w8r2 but I've been on the IC for two weeks.. So just going to try and see how much fight I've got or forgotten as the case may be.. WTG you.. x
Horrible runs happen but you stuck to it and completed it- well done
I still avoid hills! The great difference is you are learning and recognising the factors of your run/ gremlin potential etc and yet can still stay focussed enough to just get to the end.
First five mins really SLOW to allow oxygen to get into your bloodstream on these longer runs. Saves a bit of energy for later too...😊 Definately avoid hills, you are working hard enough.....
