1st post grad run šŸ˜”

A bit disappointed got 3/4 of a mile in and my left calf locked on me and I couldnā€™t walk it off so Iā€™ve had to abandon my run for today. Iā€™ll give it a couple of days rest and try again.

Shame, sorry to hear that. Yes, rest is what it will need. You are still doing your 5 minute warm-up walk arenā€™t you?

Yeah did my warm up walk, hubby thinks I may need to start incorporating some stretches into my warm up. Only other thing I can think of is I usually leave two full days between runs so my run really shouldā€™ve been tomorrow not today. I didnā€™t go off too fast either my times say I was at my usual pace. My left leg now feels quite numb and tingling.

Thanks I had to log in on safari as I use the app on my iPhone so I canā€™t see it normally.

These things happen, rest it well and then back on it.

This is my first real setback, my left knee and thigh have been giving me a few niggles I shouldā€™ve listened to my body a bit more. X

Did you think a few months ago that youā€™d ever have a SPORTING injury? Embrace it and be proud!

Thatā€™s too bad. I do a quick yoga warmup first, designed for runners. Ok I have to drive 20 minutes to my favourite route and the benefits might have warn off, but so far so good (šŸ¤ž)

Have a few days rest and youā€™ll be up and running again soon! šŸƒā€ā™€ļøšŸƒā€ā™€ļøšŸƒā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜€šŸ˜€šŸ˜€

Thanks Hun, I have a routine of stretches I normally do at the end Iā€™m gonna start doing them at the beginning to. One thing I never thought of with being off work at the mo, I work in a school I normally cycle to and from work everyday which obviously Iā€™ve not been doing and hubby reckons that may have knocked my base level of fitness a little.

Sorry to hear this, yes dynamic stretching is best for a warm up. Good luck
