I am feeling so happy after this run I literally grinned from ear to ear on the warm down and its still stuck on my face.

So many firsts today, first run in absolutely torrential rain, first time I’ve been covered in liquid cow sh*t, first time Ive waved to someone I know and first 5k 😊

I ran through the lanes, having narrowly escaped inadvertently joining the 600 triathlon competitors along the sea front (thank god for local radio)πŸ™ˆ. I ran a route that wasn’t flat, was public and loved it .

I finished with David Grey singing Babylon ... what more could a women want 😁😁😁😁

Was the rain before or after the liquid cow shit?

As I ran up a small hill the water was literally running down full of cow shit and an old lady drove past and it splattered my shoes and leggings with the stuff πŸ˜‚

Thank you Simon 😘 πŸ˜ƒ

I have to sort out the start though as I run too fast , ran first K in 4 mins something 😬but think Im going slow ! Ive read all the links on slowing down (obviously didn’t understand them πŸ€”) but whats important is I really enjoyed the run , rain cow shit and all πŸ˜‚

Always best to start slow and finish fast. That does depend somewhat on hills and inclines though. If you do want to start fast make sure you are warmed up plenty (more than 5 min walk).

You are doing so well though!

How are the trainers? You can stick them in the washing machine. Pop them in an old pillow case first. About an hour. They’ll be lovely!

I need new ones these are looking grim but they do have gortex as they are a walk/run shoe , I’ve scrubbed them, honestly I looked a shocking mess πŸ˜‚

Sounds like the best reason for a trip to the running shop!
