Well what a farce this morning was. Thank god no one was watching! W6R3 all set to go without my usual running buddy cos she’s not well. Big thing for me going out on my own so when hubby offered to come with me I said yes. He hasn’t run for over a year so thought i would be ok. Was so wrong.. I didn’t realise how much I relied on my RB as a pacemaker, she knows my pace and notices me speeding up before I do. So I plugged earphones into phone, put radio on, got app on and off we go. Except my earphones wouldn’t stay in my bloody ears, pulled em out of phone and radio wouldnt play so running round a track in silence, pace is completely to pot, breathing totally out of sync and then I check the app ... it’s stopped!!!! Dont know how long I have been going for, how long I have left, or how much longer before my lungs had before they are going to explode! So hubby says don’t worry I know how long we need to go for, just another lap and a half. Yeah right, fought thru a couple of panic attacks, fighting back the tears and emotional pain and then when we stop it turns out we had been running for 30 minutes and have covered 2.6 miles. No wonder I was so effing knackered.his response... I wanted to push u so UK we u could do the final run!! Yes in good time matey. The car ride home was very quiet lol Needless to say I am deffo leaving him at home if RB is ever ill again !!!

Hey Norfolk out of a bit of chaos, your result was pretty fantastic! We all have those faffy off putting runs. I remember only too well MJ pausing during a couple of my runs! Seems he needed a rest! 🤨 But after coming down from the cofuffle, I was able to laugh, as the job was done and run complete. I was a bit mindful of locking the screen after that occurred a couple of times too. Well you can certainly say goodbye to W6! Well done for getting through all that!

Have a great rest day and a nice smooth W7! ❤️

Thanks. We are on our way to holiday so if I can’t walk tomorrow I have every intention of becoming Madge from Benidorm and he can push me round in a bloody wheelchair for the week !! Gotta laugh ain’t ya! Now I have calmed down I am starting to accept that I ran non stop for half an hour. (Bloody hell, never thought I would ever be able to say that)

That's your "Bloody awful running thing" event now firmly in the annals. We're all allowed at least one. Everything from here on in will be fantastic xx

Sounds like a perfect storm of awfulness tho. Don't blame hubby. He thought he was doing the right thing :-) We tend not to be great at Emotional Intelligence all the time tho... 😂

I was smiling all the way through from the time you mentioned the husband “willingly“ joining you. My alarm bells switched on. I thought he would either collapse or be discouraging. But it was the app playing up and him adding a few minutes. Now I understand why runners do it - solo.

After you’ve cooled down ,maybe, just maybe, you both would laugh and smile at this run. 🙂🙂🙂🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️. Did he say he would come along for the next run? Hope RB gets well soon to save you from venting your spleenx

Universal Laws of Life:

#1 Everyone likes Italian Food;

#2 Don't ever have your OH as a running partner.

So true! Still haven’t forgiven mine for saying he’d run with me then abandoning me as he shot off in the middle of my first Parkrun! Every run we do “together” he does at twice the speed and usually adds on 2k extra... OHs don’t make good running partners, seriously! 😂😂😂

You forgot never faff with your phone when running or you’ll put the run on pause!! I did it more than once!!

After my stroppy silence he very calmly said he won’t come again 🙃

Haha, the tech nightmare sounds very familiar, but I've only ever run with a buddy once (a challenge issued during a booze night out). He was miles faster than me and it didn’t end well 😂 although it did result in a PB which stood for a few weeks. Could have done without the heart failure though 🤔

Hope your Running Buddy is feeling better for your next run. From my own experience, going it alone is far better than relying on OHs to run with... Good luck with your last couple of weeks! ❤️❤️👍😎

Oh dear... poor you. But well done!! You survived it and so far your relationship has too! 🤣🤣

I know some couples run together very happily but I learnt early on to leave my OH at home. Gosh it was the most irritating run ever, only saved by an amazing time up our hill trying to get it over with! 🤣😂🤣😂

Still, you made it! 💪👍 celebrate that 😉😁 (and get him to make/buy lunch!) 🤣
