I was in two minds about changing my route for my final week but I think I like the fact that I know how long it takes me to run around my field so when I'm told I have '5 minutes left', I roughly know at what point I’ll need to get to which sometimes helps me pick up the pace at the end (or it makes me know when I can finally stop depending on how the run is going 😊)
I think main factor for this feeling much better was because I switched what I was listening which was a Kevin Hart interview (what an inspiring guy he is btw) rather than music. As you can see from my pace graph, it’s pretty steady compared to most of my other runs and I guess this is what it’s all about? Maintaining a consistent pace?
I'm going for my first W9 run tomorrow morning and was wondering if anyone else has ever had a sneak listen to a future run to see when their mentor would pop up? Even though I struggled with W8 compared to W7, I really did like the final minute notification W7 gave where Jo suggested upping the pace if we had it in us.

No, I didn't ever listen ahead - though there were times when I wished I had known when the prompts were going to be, now I come to think about it. But you've got this far, you'll be fine either way. Mixing up your route will be a good thing to try once you get fed up of your field, once you're consolidating your running. Mixing up music, audio books and podcasts is another way to add variety. Graduation is in touching distance now, well done!!!
Thanks for the advice, I was thinking about audio books after graduation. One more run to go which will be tomorrow morning. Thinking about pushing it until I do 5k but will see how I feel. How are you getting on?
It's really not necessary to push for 5k at this point - the last thing you need is an injury! Why not save the 5k as your next goal in case you feel a bit lost without the structure of the program? I did my first 5k a month or so later and it was another running highlight for me 😊
5k in 30 minutes took a lot longer! I gradually increased time until I hit 5k. Take a look at the pinned post about Consolidation after graduation, then the monthly consolidation club pinned post - lots of info there. Gradual is key, never breaking the 10%rule!
I totally stuck with my route the whole way through! Only because I knew certain points along the way to aim for which somehow gave me that extra encouragement & motivation 💪🏼I can say I’m still doing the same route 2 weeks after graduation 🤣🙈 but now I’m going further on the same route & a little faster too!
I’m happy with that 🤩
Keep going the finish line is within touching distance 👏🏻🏃🏽♀️
