Welcome to the forum and c25k. And well done with the weight loss.

Keep slow to complete each run and when you think you’re going slow, go even slower. The key is to complete each run and each week, not do it the fastest. Good luck and keep posting your progress !

Well done on your weight loss! I started running last week and definitely helps if you run slower rather than racing off. You can do it, good luck 😉

Well, as you’ve lost 4 stone I’d say you have the number one requirement to get through this, focus and determination. Relax, warm up, enjoy, cooldown... you can do this.

Great that you’ve started the programme - it absolutely works and you're sure to have fun. You’ll hear ‘slow and steady’ seemingly thousands of times - because that’s what helps you achieve each new level.

No running experience isn’t a problem at all. I’d done next to none either, and now I’m up to running for 28 minutes on W8!

Have fun, post here with you progress, and good luck! 😀🏃‍♀️❤️😀

Losing a lot of weight takes discipline, determination, and follow-through. You have all the skills already to do this!

Even though food restriction is the big key to weight loss, I'm a huge believer in exercise as part of that equation. I think the more we move our bodies and challenge ourselves, the more we want to take care of those bodies and maintain them in a size/weight/shape/whatever that allows us to do active things. (I only mention weight because you stated you were continuing to lose. If a person is overweight or obese and happy to stay that way and feels good about themselves AND wants to run? GO GO GO! Awesome.)

*My only tip*:

Go slow. It's the answer to many issues: shin splints, out of breath, stitch in side, losing energy.

You may think, "These people have no idea what they're dealing with, I AM going slow." Surprisingly, you can go slower.

I struggled hard that first week. I lurked and kept reading, and ignoring, the go slow advice. See above "These people have no idea..."

Then it hit me around Week 1 Day 3. Hmm. Maybe I should try slowing down?

Deal changer!

I always tell myself: You can always speed up, but it's much harder to recover energy once you've already burned yourself out going too hard.

Have fun!!!
