Week 1 Run 1

have finally decided after much nagging to get up and do it! Not sure that choosing the hottest week of the year was the best idea but there you go....thankfully running along the Thames kept it a little cooler. Legs feeling it a lot last 2 min runs a struggle but did it! I don’t think I will be looking at what’s next....

Well done! It's the only way: just get up and go do it.

Don't think of what comes next. Focus on getting through each run.

Somehow it IS possible.

And the gratification humungus!!! 😁

Check this great post out and welcome:)

Just take one run at a time... each one makes us stronger... take it slow and steady... ( my mantra since I started this in 2015..) enjoy the programme and keep posting too, for terrific support and encouragement:)

Like you I only started this week, and in the this heat is quite hard to do, but I am going to keep going, well done 😁

Welcome to another starter, enjoy the 'journey', it is so worthwhile...even on the days that seem not to go so well...they will come, but the good runs far outweigh the not so good ones. Have fun 🌻

Keep going! I found the first run the hardest of the lot, and you've completed that. You'll be surprised at how quickly you get stronger. Good luck!

The hardest part of every run is getting off the couch and out of the door, past the mountain of potential excuses - you've done that, and you've done the first run which again is all "shock" to an unaccustomed body. Whilst there is progression ( he says with all the experience of getting to the end of week 2 without passing out), you are building the capability to take on that next step so it should be possible.

Well done for starting, you went out and you did it in spite of the heat...that's so cool 😎. Enjoy every run, don't stress about what's coming next, just take each one as it comes. Beware though the 9 weeks go in a flash, and you will be completely addicted 🙃. Have fun, keep well hydrated, even on those rest days keep up the water intake, especially during this unusual hot weather 🚴
