Not gonna pretend it's been easy, the last couple of weeks have been hard work. The first 5 minutes of every run I'm always sure "this is gonna be the one I have to stop early". The first 10 - 15 minutes are a slog, it's only after that I fall into a comfortable rhythm and zone.
I've calculated roughly that I'm covering about 4k just now. There is absolutley no way that a few months ago I would believe I could run 4k without stopping 3 times in a week. And pretty soon that'll be 5k!!! Ok, not next week but it won't be long.
But I'm getting ahead of myself ....... bring on W9

If it was easy everyone would be doing it. But don't worry about the distance, it's all about running for 30 minutes at this stage. The first ten minutes are usually tough, it's our bodies' way of preparing for the exercise that's to follow but it soon settles down. All perfectly normal 🙂
I'm moving into the geek zone now, got myself a basic Garmin watch to monitor distance and pace a bit more accurately, I'll use it for the first 30 minute run on Saturday
Welcome to the geek zone, there's a lot of us around! And enjoy Saturday 🙂
Well done, you're nearly there! I experience exactly the same pattern and am always amazed to find the last 15 minutes so much easier than the first 10!
