W8R1 what happened ?

Set off this morning nice and sharp while it was cool to run the 28 minutes. Hadn't planned my route obviously that well and ended up home just short of 26 minutes. So annoyed with myself as I stopped instead of carrying on - the mental challenge strikes again !! Runkeeper stats 12.03min/mi which isn't fast I know but perhaps I was going quicker than normal.

Thank you - I will be planning a longer route to ensure I do the full 28mins

Hi Lexie, you’ve proved to yourself you can do 28 mins so I’m sure you’ll manage it next time! 😊

The pace doesn’t really matter, that will come in time if that’s what you want to concentrate on 🙂👍

I try to do a mixture of runs, some short and ‘fast’ ( for me anyway 😊) and some longer working on my stamina 🏃‍♂️💪

Good luck with your next run 🙂🤞

You could claim that as two minutes off your PB!

Did you up the pace as you neared home? If so that’s a kick to the finish too.

I don’t think you’ve hit a mental issue with the running, just the planning bit, so it’s all good.

As for the pace, my friend who’s a serious runner (he did race to the stones last weekend... 62 miles over two days) clocks 12 minute mile averages most days, so I’d say it’s not too shabby.

Keep up the good work.

Wow 62 miles over 2 days - incredible - well done to your friend !

Yes I know I was pushing myself the nearer to home I got so my pace was slightly faster. I'll be back at it tomorrow morning - just got to keep positive and keep going this time.

Thanks for all your positive comments - they're really helpful.
