Although I enjoyed this run, it was definitely challenging for me mentally a lot more than usual today! Scenery was beautiful, wish I would have taken a photo but my phone goes in an arm band so it was more hassle than its worth - and it would have been blurry haha!
The first ten minutes was fine, then the next 10 minutes I was way too fast in my pace for my first run of the week (kilometre 2 was 8'44") so knew I had to slow it down, however, I think that threw me off entirely as I kept on checking my watch after 20 minutes every minute or two because I mentally felt more exhausted than I actually was! I kept on thinking "you can stop now, you are way more exhausted than usual and don't want to injure yourself" - I knew I just had to ignore that little devil on my shoulder and RUN, and not necessarily THINK. Definitely cheered quite a bit when the run had ended, because I'm only a couple of runs away until I can run for 30 MINUTES!! 28 minutes is absolutely brilliant now, I just can't believe how far I've come throughout!
My distance was a lot higher as well 3.12km running, but I think in total including my walking its 4.25K which I'm pretty happy about!
If you have a run today, good luck - you'll smash it!

Huge well done... maybe tuck the watch away... relax and let the newly forming running legs find their own happy pace, Don't push it. The runs are perfect for slow and steady
It's weird because I usually don't look at my watch but definitely just need to avoid looking at it entirely and just listening to my music! Thank you, I'll try and find my happy pace (I've got a feeling it's about 9-9'13" but will have to find that out soon!)
Well done for sticking with it. Only another 2 mins and you have done it. If the going gets tough just remember you have gone from 1 min to 28 mins already, so 28 to 30 is easy by comparison.
Well done. I’ve completed the same run today! The middle section was hard mentally for me too. It’s hard to ignore that devil on your shoulder at the time but after finishing the run and reflecting...it always feels much better than it did at the time and that’s what drags me onwards! And amazingly, we just ran for 28 mins!!!
Well done! It’s so worth that little devil really trying to make you stop. Can you believe we would have been able to do that 8 weeks ago?! Crazy isn’t it!
Yeah definitely regretted that faster pace after about 15 minutes, so will definitely improve on that for the next run! They like to really shout before I go on my run but I just tell them to man up and get on with it hahah!
