I went out for my 2nd run this week on Thursday and almost gave up. It's the first time it's happened but I started to really struggle and when I had finally done my 30mins and started walking I thought I was going to be sick, I wasn't but it has scared me as this hasn't happened but before. I went out after work as this was the oI nly time I had but not veen out since as im scared it will happen again.
Nearly didn't make it 😣: I went out for my 2nd... - Couch to 5K
Nearly didn't make it 😣
Blimey, that does sound scary. I’m no expert (in anything) but maybe it was the heat, being tired after work, pace too fast, lack of food/fluid or a combination of any or all of these. Please don’t give up you’ve worked so hard to get where you are now. Maybe take it easier next time or drop back a week.
Caveat - please see earlier comment about not being an expert.
Good luck, we’re all rooting for you.
Sometimes runs like this happen. You may have been overtired, slightly under hydrated or it could simply have been the weather.
Put this one behind you... do some shorter runs ... a different route, and take it really slowly. If you are struggling, then the first thing to do is slow down more...maybe take a small amount of water, even on the shorter runs, just to pour over your wrist or dampen your neck...
I think you will be fine... just relax and take a little jogette
Hi Dawnie16 I think you should change the title of your post to "I did it despite not feeling great" the main thing is you did do it, that should give you confidence that you can do it again, some runs are better than others, all sorts of things can affect you, particularly the weather at the moment, so don't be afraid, get out there and do it again, slow down if needs be, have a little walk if you need to, you have done it, can do it and will do it again💪💪
It’s been so hot and if you were pushing yourself too much your body was just letting you know. If you had listened to your body, you would have slowed right down or called it off. But the fact you did it , well you are stronger for it! So don’t feel bad, just take the next run slower 😊💪🏃♀️
Nausea can be a sign of heat exhaustion. Not enough hydration the day before and overdoing it in the heat can cause it... but... you got through it. You did your run and you're ok.
Learn the lessons... more hydration and careful in the heat but don't let the gremlins grab onto the fear as an excuse to hold you back. Just be careful 👍😉
Thanks all , always listen to advise given so going to try to get up early tomorrow and go out before it gets too hot and take some water with me. I have this stupid stubborn streak that keepsstopping me from walking...think I may need to if it happens again until I've recovered a bit.
I’ve felt like that before, don’t worry it’s normal sometimes we are just exhausted especially after working. Tom will be better - u will see . xxx
