Solo run tonight with no pacemaker so back to the usual park.
The first 10 mins were dire - my legs were solid and heavy - I kept telling myself to suck it up buttercup and visualised the belly fat that only appeared since I turned 50 melting away, 2nd half seemed better but by the end I was dragging my legs around.
Iβm now almost on 3 laps of the park and I think this may be some of the issue - you can see how far there is still to go. The up and down of the riverbank seemed to pass more quickly.
Eventful in that I was hit by 2 footballs and 3 dogs jumped up to me today π and I wasnβt the slowest runner in the park as I passed someone running/walking - perhaps a fellow c25ker !!! Couple of seconds faster than Monday too. π

π one ball was from a father son and dog walking along 3 abreast, so had to manoeuvre around them - the kid kicked it and it rolled between my feet - I had to kick it away not to fall over; the 2nd one was only about 50m later from the football match going on on the pitch the track circles - it was going at speed!
βWeβve reviewed the programme and it isnβt challenging enough in Week 8. We are proposing to introduce an obstacle course section involving dogs, families walking in the way and footballs. Participants will get to keep the black eye and chewed ankles as a bonus trophy for their efforts.β
Well done! It sounds like an achievement just getting home in one piece! πππββοΈπββοΈπ
Your first line had me laughing, though. I may run solo, but, personally speaking, Iβm always going to be taking along my pacemaker...perhaps because itβs leads are what provide every heartbeat I get!! ππ (Maybe I should correct that to say my pacemaker is always whatβs taking the rest of me along with it...ππ)
Well done Crittermad! Lesser mortals would have thrown their arms in the air and stormed off the pitch - but not you! How soon can you get on a plane to Russia? We will be needing you on Sunday! π
