It took some persuading but we did it :-)

Planned to run/walk Parkrun this morning with my 13 year old son. He was not keen this morning! Left his expensive football boots (which he bought himself) on the bus Tuesday morning and whilst the driver told him they'd been handed in the depot don't have them and have no record of them :-(

He's been upset about it all week and said last night he didn't want to run. Still moody this morning but after much badgering from me we got out there. I'm so glad I did persist because we had a really good time again and I'm sure he's in a much better mood now because of it. Unfortunately I managed to lose his barcode on the way round so he recorded with mine - have now ordered 2 snazzy wristband ones so it can't happen again.

He actually PB'd but surprisingly given his mood this morning took it very well. So we can add to the unexpected benefits of running - reducing moodiness in teenagers πŸ˜‚

Oh no how gutting!!! Worse person it can happen to is a moody teenager - I know having one! πŸ˜‚ Great you got out and did Parkrun together. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ x

I hear ya! πŸ˜‚

He really likes running! He's chosen to do PE GCSE and I'm hoping we might be able to use Parkrun in that. We ran 2 minutes at a time this week so his stamina is definitely improving x

You are doing well to get him out with you! Have asked my son but think he is threatened by his ageing mother leaving him for dust!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ x

They seem a good idea particularly if you run them regularly. No idea why I didn't put the barcodes in my new running belt instead of stuffing them in my bra - think I forgot I had it :-)

Mine was in my phone case but I don’t need my phone now with the new watch. I nearly stuffed the barcode down my bra this morning πŸ˜‚ but thought better of it and left it in my bag as once you’ve got the barcode from the finish line, it doesn’t matter when you get scanned in

Ooo what watch have you got? I've literally just come back from collecting my Garmin Forerunner 35 x

Apple Watch. We’re still becoming acquainted πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚

Very nice :-) I am such a technophobe! I've only just got rid of my Nokia brick. I was the entertainment last weekend as I tried to work out how to text, call and answer my new phone πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Aw! So sorry about your son's shoes. I do hope they turn up. I love the idea the idea of running with my son one day. He is nearly 28 and not actually running at the moment. One day perhaps. Well done for your Parkrun!
