Mental barrier broken at 3rd Park Run 👊

Once again an array of coloured tee shirts, toned legs & trainers went whizzing past me at my 3rd Park Run since Graduation ~ and quelle surprise 😱 Here come the Gremlins ... 🙄 but I plodded on, "Slow 'n' steady, slow 'n' steady; you can do this Laura!!" And I did it. I ran non stop for 33 minutes 😬 Walked for around 90seconds and ran the rest of the 5k!! 😊 First run with "others" where I haven't caved in psychologically 💪 And a new PB to boot 🙌💫

Well done. I’m going to attempt my first park run in a couple of weeks and it’ll be my first time running with others. I see them all every week when I’m out for my plod but I’ve been encouraged by the amount of other plodders!

Thank you, and I'm sure you will enjoy it 😊 There don't seem to be many plodders at our one, and knowing that you're "allowed" to walk has been a real test of strength for me! I just don't feel as committed to not walking when I'm surrounded by other people! But i did it today so at least next week I'll know I can do it 😊

Well done, apart from passing you are the folk who do these runs generally as nice and supportive as those on here. I would like to try one.

I had put my Spotify library on shuffle this morning and remembered I had not removed your mate Dizzy, thankfully he did not put in an appearance.

Haha Runningroni don't remove Dizzee! 🤣 Let him reside in a quiet corner of your library, you can think of me when he pops up! 🤣 Yes the general culture of Park Run is that it's inclusive for all, and everyone is encouraged and valued for their efforts! There is even some cheering on the final stretch 😬 Well worth doing 😊
