Did my very first Park Run today - so the dilemma ... when Laura says to slow down to a walk after 30 mins .... nnnnoooooooo I'm near the end I screamed, so I upped pace and went for it passing 3 people with a time of 36 m 30 s and I ran the whole thing :D Sorry Laura I know I've hung on your every word up to now but ....I'm not listening any more :)

Today was Coventry but my home ones will be Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury

Thanks Atomic - I thought the park was quite flat but according to my Garmin I did 33m elevation so double proud :D

Awesome effort! Laura is great but sometimes you'll find YOU are even greater! That's a great time!

You'll find MarkyD in Newbury too BTW... :)

I can't believe I ignored her :) she's been my God for so long.

MarkyD is far too quick for me to catch :)

She is quite a woman is Laura... :) She probably added a few years to my life and she'll never know it! I occasionally go back to her for a 30 minute run... :)

And Mrs Aussie is now about to start on W4 so she's still a feature of this house... :)

It will be a privilege to meet you LabShack, and so let me know when you're coming to Newbury. ParkRun is all about the atmosphere, having fun and competing against your own PB. Very well done for getting to W9r1 & you'll graduate this week. Fantastic.

Hey MarkyD will do it soon - I don't know my way round Newbury very well so rely heavily on the sat nav ... is there plenty of parking as have to drive there?

It's on the south side of Newbury at Greenham Common. There's plenty of parking and the directions on the ParkRun website are detailed and accurate. It is hard to miss 300 runners making their way to the start of the course :-)

Alternatively, I can pick you up from Chieveley Services and taxi you too/from the run if you want some company.

Just had a look and it looks quite easy to get to and I like the idea of the single lap may have to do this on Saturday.

Thank you for the offer of taxi'ing me in ... think like you say following 300 odd runners gives me quite a chance of finding it :)

I'll say hi if I find you but I won't be able to match your pace - probably find you at the finish line about 10/15 mins after you finish :)

Ooh ! Well done .

Well done Labshack - great job! I have to confess to ignoring Laura a teeny bit on that run too as I was soooo close to 4km ... like you I just had to get that slightly bigger target ;)

Only 2 runs till you graduate ... go for it!

I know - think those other 2 runs will be difficult as it will just be me and Laura without the competitive nature of the parkrun ....goes off to eat some humble pie and buy Laura a banana grovel grovel!!!
