OK. I got to Mid-Week 7 of the Couch to 5K. I started off at 86 kilos, and I am still 85plus kilos. Yes, the belly has tightened up, and the muscles of the legs have developed. I feel confident that I'll graduate in a couple of weeks, God willing. And, boy, is this fun!
But I want to get down to 79-80 kilos, so I am thinking about the post-graduation plan - I really need an objective. Is it best to restrict food, and keep running 30 minutes - my diet is already pretty good and balanced, mostly-veggie and minimal, or would I be better served by maintaining my diet and extending the time by, say 10% a week, after a couple of weeks consolidation?

You don’t get any extra grub til you are running well beyond 10k. Stick to your healthy eating regime while doing your runs and you will most likely see a drop in weight. Eating the same but doing more exercise usually results in weight loss 😃👍
I’ve lost nearly five stones by maintaining a healthy diet while running 💪🙂👍
Used to call my Dad, affectionately, the old fellow and he referred to himself also as that.💥
Gosh he passed at 58 in 1979,cannot believe that.🙈
Enjoy it all.🌟👏👏
Yes my experience is precisely as misswobbles.
Lost 3 stone before taking up running at almost 75.
I am 80kg and 5’ 10” and would love to shed more and get to 70 kg.🤔
Why carry it.🙈
Round the middle,of course, toughest place to move it from.🤔
Apparently only solution is not dieting related, takes particular exercises and not the accepted conventional ones.🤔
Definately I will not trade off muscle and strength and enjoying running too much. You need to be strong and I find the running just puts and keeps me in control.
Hoping the longer distances will sort things out naturally with out stressing about the pot/potential reduction.🙈😂
You are doing great and you have your podium in sight.👍
Laura’s post graduate podcasts a real treat for your consolidation period and beyond.
I started calling myself TOF on-line many many years ago. I was, at the time, a fellow of the British Computer Society - which explains how I got to be a couch-potato - sitting for days on end in front of the screen.....
I'm very interested that you say the middle-age spread needs special exercises. I'll have to research that. Thanks for the tip.
And I couldn't do it without Laura! I shall certainly be following her post-grad.
When you start running up and down hills - or even modest undulations- you will find that it shreds your middle beautifully. It doesn’t take that long either, provided you’re eating/drinking healthily 💪😃👍🏃♂️
