Hi all. I am just about to go for my first run and am a bit nervous. How did you all make that first step to running?

Hello well done for starting! Just go really slowly, it might feel like you could walk faster but that is fine 🐌😀 good luck

Hiya, I have just finished week 1. Before I started couch25k I tried a 1 minute run and I was absolutely shattered so though I would really struggle, I think I was going too fast, when I started C25K I took it slower and it was much better, still tired after run 1 but didnt see myself being able to do it at all, now I'm going into W2. Onwards and Upwards, its brilliant how you improve :-) You can do it!

Started on Thursday and have now done run 3. Keep an ‘im doing this for me’ mentality so that I can ignore my surroundings.

It took me years to muster up the courage to go out and run around my nearby streets, I was convinced people would laugh at me and I would embarrass myself. Not only that, I was convinced I simply 'couldn't do it', like I wasn't built to run and I shouldn't even try.

It really just comes down to getting out there and doing it, it gets easier every time. Having a programme to follow helps too, I think if it was just up to me to try and build up my fitness I wouldn't know where to begin. You can do this!
