Intro - completed couch

Hi, I've completed the couch2 5k and now aim to continue running ( well jogging at pace) 3 times a week, including a parkrun. I suffer from high blood pressure and am hoping this exercise along with gym will help to lower it and my weight! I considered cannicross with the dogs, but running with 2 is difficult. Hoping for inspiration and motivation :)

Thank you!

Congratulations on completing c25k DobermanMum 🥂🍾

I imagine running with 2 (both dobermans?) is nigh on impossible!! My wife tried a couple times with our 6 yr old Dobie who decided she wanted to go in a different direction to my wife (who was trying to cross a road) but since they were joined at the hip by one of those hands free running leads, the dog tripped her up and she went full length on the pavement in front of a group of teenage boys who found it hilarious. That was the last time out for both the dog and the brand new running leggings which ended up with a big hole in both knees 😆

Yeah but you don’t give up. You dust yourself off and try again

Canicross is fab and I noticed several ladies running with two dogs at a recent event It takes practice, like anything else

Running doesn’t have to involve the dog at all though as it’s not good for the blood pressure if they want to go off at a tangent every few minutes and lurch off dragging you with them 😁

I would think running regularly would lower blood pressure. You would deffo get fitter. Slimmer too,if you are careful with your eats and drinks

Running regularly, eating well, sleeping better all adds up. Chances are you will want to do more as you have more energy. Get plenty of walking done. I’ve all but ditched my car these days

Have fun 😃👍🏃‍♂️🐕

Thank you - it doesn't feel like fun when I'm running, but I certainly feel better afterwards :)

Sorry but I had to laugh at that! I have 2 dobies and both like to go different directions - that's just walking! I have been running with them through the woods and on the beach, they run loose, but they still try and trip me up.
