Hi...I've just downloaded the app and I'm going to start this running and I'm expected it to be very hard as I'm 49 and at my heaviest weight of 13stone and not even sure I can manage week 1😱 but I will see. Is it ok to follow this programme on a treadmill?

Hey good luck and I’m sure it won’t be as bad as you’re expecting.

Course you can do it on a treadmill, although best to set it to a 1% (or 1 degree?) incline to mirror being outdoors (and I think it’s also a lot better for your legs to not land on a completely flat surface, but don’t quote me on that)

Don’t worry about the speed or how far you went, just take your time and focus on the different movements you’re doing when you’re running and when you’re walking and see. Pick a trainer you like (I love listening to jo Wiley) and find some good music (I like Spotify’s own running playlists - I usually go for the fun run one) or an audiobook (people find this more of a distraction - you can still keep track of time with songs knowing that roughly each one is 3-4 minutes long).

Keep posting on here and you’ll get all the support you need.

Again, good luck with everything and you can definitely completed

I turned 50 in Dec and am similar weight to you, I’m on week 8 and although there have been tough bits, it’s all been worth it. The plan really works, you will surprise yourself, I know I have. This forum is great for motivation and advice Good Luck - you can do this 💪🏻.

I'm 55 and haven't done much running in the past 20 years. I do go to the gym but didn't do a lot of cardio. I tried running without any guidance and quickly got fed up. I downloaded the C25k app and have found this has given me guidance and goals which have kept my enthusiasm up. The main thing is if you feel like giving up, don't!! It does feel difficult at times but you will get through them and you will feel great. I do. Good luck. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

You’ll be fine, just do it in your own pace. Let us know how you get on.
