I am in my 40's and ridiculously unfit so instantly dismissed me ever jogging.
3 weeks ago I started with just jogging quarter of a mile down a steep hill where I live and that itself was tough but because once I started it was hard to stop.
I think it was good to prepare me for this.
I don't think I would ever have started if it hadn't been for the hill start....
Today was my first day of Couch to 5k it was raining which could have easily have put me off but I am proud I completed the session.
Because I have never really exercised before I didn't realise the importance of training every other day....
I am feeling fatigued and am ready for my bed earlier than usual, hopefully once my body gets used to this I won't feel this drained.

Well done. You have done the hardest bit which is getting round to it! I too have only just started done week one but I am going to repeat it as was too unfit to complete each running section. I think it’s just a case if not giving up and taking your own pace. Good luck
I think I might be doing week one twice, hopefully not but being new to exercise thankfully being told to take things slowly and at my own pace will ward off any injuries and keep me motivated...
I turned 40 this year and felt so unfit, I’m now moving onto WK8, and my WK1 self is amazed to see me here! Keep going, not all runs will be great, but as long as you’re out there you’re doing amazing! Sometimes I feel wiped earlier in the day after a run, but other times I get in the house just after a run and feel like I could clean the house top to bottom in 5mins 😂 Listen to your body and build up gradually, you’ll get there!
You certainly can do this A heck of a lot of us were older and could barely runnthe first minute of Day one - a quarter mile was unthikable! In my early days I used to think it would probably kill me - but I would die happy - if I could just make the 3/10th of a mile marker at the (level) Park
Wishing you all the many happy miles that await you in the future ☺
Keep going. The programme works and you will do it. I'm fat, over 40 and before starting this im not sure id ever run for 30 mins in my entire life(certainly not after puberty at any rate). I graduated this week....you can soon too. Top tips..try to stick to the pattern of runs every other day or every 2 days....but if life means you miss it dont beat yourself up for it..you can always repeat a week. if you are having a "grumpy dont want to " day, worth pushing out of the door as is great for beating the glum once you are out there. Oh and this forum...great for support and accountability.
