Week 8 run 2 (warning really moany post)

Just had a really rubbish run at 8.00 this morning! My usual route took 10 minutes longer and my legs felt so tired and heavy. Had left two rest days as well in between runs. Hoping my next run doesn’t go as bad!

That's not REALLY moany. Only a little bit moany.

You still went! You still did it! Give yourself a hug as you're doing great.

Everyone seems to have at least one bad day I did 2 runs back and the next run was better . You kept going so you are fitter than if you hadn’t, hope your next run feels better, sure it will.

Exactly what Annedroid said! At least you got out there & did it. Look how far you have come - bet you never imagined that in W1. We all have good & not so good runs. I really struggled on Sunday with W7R1 but did R2 today & it was way better. Have your two days rest & enjoy. I bet you will smash your next run. Good luck

Your next good day will cancel it out, rest up and get back out there 👍🏻

Sometimes it not easy. Probably wouldn't be worthwhile if it was. Sounds like you have a much slower pace to use when you need to which is good.

Did you drink enough water the day before? Up to 3 litres or more? If you don't drink water on regular basis you will be dehydrated and experience heavy legs, 'burning' muscles and cramps. Drinking lots of water before or during the run is even worse as it all ends up in your stomach rather than being absorbed by the body. A few sips before or during the run is fine but all that really matters is proper hydration the day before.

I find it reassuring that others have rubbish days too, so thanks for your post. I have W7R2 due tomorrow morning & feeling rather apprehensive but will get out early & hope I won’t have to repeat it. Sounds to me like you’re doing great 👍

Yes I think we all do. Well I certainly do! W7R1 was a real struggle for me but I found R2 today (marginally) easier. You'll be fine. Good luck.

Thanks - that’s so good to know. Will let you know how I get on. Good luck for your final run of W7. 😻
