Week 8 run 2

After a day's missed running yesterday due to work commitments, I got up today for a 6 a.m private park run! Wow that place was dark! Half way through my run I could make out the shape of a lone female dog walker on the path ahead, i thought I'd best alert her to my presence so as not to scare the crap out of her as I caught her up... But I was halfway through my furthest and fastest (I think) run! All I could really do was breath louder and step a little harder 🤣🤣 so yeah she jumped a bit as I overtook and tried to blurt out a cheerie "good morning" I think she must have had her ear pods in! 🤣

Speaking of headphones, it was wet today so I trialed wired ear buds instead of my usual overhead set... What a chore! Fell out numerous times, constantly fiddling with them! Don't wear Huawei wired buds that come with your phone! There awful to run in apart from distracting you from all the other stuff you usually think about 🤣

The run went really well, best yet I'd say and ran for 29 mins as I was heading toward park exit when Sarah told me to stop... Just one more minute I thought 🤭 continued on and finished strong! Didn't mind the dark, the rain, the dog walkers... Almost enjoyed it 🤣

To keep on schedule I'm gonna have to run one day this weekend which I don't usually do but I'm no longer stressing about my routine just gonna fit them in as often as possible now and looking forward to completing week 8 and starting week 9 next week.... Eeeek! 🤣

I hope everyone has a great day x

Great run there Jericho - well done. Looks like you were really motoring along too - great pace, you may even smash the 30m 5K at this rate.

Thank you, I really felt quicker today and even though I know I'm not flying I'm very happy to be improving, fingers crossed on the 30 min 5 k 🤞🏻😁

Morning! Well done on your run. Absolutely smashing it 💪🏼 6am is an early one and I must admit, the dark mornings are not my favourite I like an early morning run above everything else, sunrise is perfect! How can you see where you’re going, is it lit where you run?? Ah.. Headphones that don’t stay put though are a massive pain!!! I run with iPhone EarPods and keep them in place with a headband. Seems to do the job of keeping my hair out of my face and keeping EarPods in.

We got back from our minibreak to Devon last night and I KNEW it was back to running for me this morning and after a week of eating bad (but delicious) food, and a few drinks I knew it would be a struggle but... 6.45am alarm went off and I toyed with the idea of not doing it for 101 reasons but managed to override them and get out after faffing around. I had laid out my kit last night so even less excuses!!

Well, it was a struggle but I enjoyed being out in the park again on my route that I know, even saw a few regulars on the way, fellow runners and walkers. But the time dragged on this run and I felt like I was running out of steam 10mins in.. thoughts of slowing to a walk drifted into my head, I batted them away and then it was half way through 😩 so I thought ok, I can do this. Kids from the local school all started gathering in the park, should’ve got out sooner to avoid them! I went round and round, sure I was getting slower!!! Anyway, I did it and I’m pleased that’s now Week 7 done ✔️ I think I’ll need to have a word with myself to get into the right headspace for Week 8 and, like you, I’m not going to stress about being out of my routine and just do this thing methodically. Think my next run will be Sunday but will see how my niggles are!!

Well done on finishing week 7! I know those voices telling you to not go and stay in the nice warm bed all too well, ignore those little blighters! 🤣 Good idea on the headband, something to keep the ears warm plus keep the earphones in May be just what I need! Ordered one of my daughters earpod pros for Xmas, may have to steal them 🤣🤣

No I could not see a thing to start, literally pitch black and no lights at all in the park, it was scary especially in the wooded sections but just kept steady and my eyes on the path. Years of scary movies probably made me run a bit faster 🤣

You’re doing great at 30 mins already. Weekend runs are the ones I enjoy the most-no work to fit it around- can get it done early and enjoy the rest of the day

That's been most of my days last couple month 🤣 but work finally appears to be picking up a bit so I'm gonna have to be a little more flexible with my run times 😁
