Mad Dogs & Englishmen - and me W7R1

Well they say only mad dogs & Englishmen go out in the midday sun and yes I went out - to the gym though but still it is flipping hot out there. Man that run was haaaaard! Got through it somehow with sheer grit & determination - and my heroes - Jay66 and Sallenson on my shoulders shouting all the way & cheering me on at the finish. I just don't know how I'm gonna do 28 minutes on W8. That was haaaaard. Did I mention that run was hard???😉

How did it go honey? Was it hard? :-)

in reply tosallenson

Did I mention it was hard! Flipping heck. Yeah - not my best run methinks but hey-ho. In it for the long-haul now.

You've only got 8 of the f*ckers left onw. C'mon. Chin up. Then you can do it for fun afterwards!! :-)

in reply tosallenson

Fun?!? Jury's out on that one! Actually- don't hate me but I am rather enjoying it. I always have loved running - just never thought I could run for long. This programme has really proved me wrong on that one.

Sounds like you didn't find it so easy! ;-)

Hopefully the next one won't be so hard.

Oh yes, with the weather helping (only 24C), I also found my run really hard today 😀

I think you guys who run outside in this heat are amazing. I think it would kill me if I did that.

We don't. We pretend.

Well done!

I love watching the curling when the Scottish women’s skip shouts “Haaaarderrrrrr!” That’s the voice you want when you are pushing through the pain.

Glad to be part of your motivation in the same way all of you guys are part of mine x

Thank you! I know this forum's brilliant. Half the time I push myself on coz I don't want to report back that I didn't do it!

Just being brave and lovely absolves you of many things over which you had little control :-)

Well done.. silly person!!!! Midday!

I got too hot at 8. a.m :)

Hydrate well and stay safe !

By the way.. was it hard...? :)

Slow and steady my friend :)

Thank you - ah well i cheated a bit there - I went out at midday but drove to the (air-conditioned) gym. I can't run in any kind of heat due to the migraines- hence the gym & treadmill. I'm hoping when the weather cools again I will get outside.

Phew.. well I was a tad worried there.. I need to look after you all :)x

It will cool.. oh it will! :)

Ah but by 28 min runs you'll have done two more 25 min runs and be itching to go on for longer 😉 Seriously though well done on fighting the gremlins and getting to the end 😀

in reply toNictwit

I'm hoping so! Have to say at the end of W6 I was desperate to get back out there! Wasn't really feeling it today though - I'm not good with heat & humidity so that's prob why.

I keep missing your posts and wondered why - I wasn’t following you! Fixed now.

Sorry for late reply.

Belated well done! Air con is the best!

So let me see if this is right - you are a Cockney witch from the Valleys who’s living in the Garden of England?😂

in reply to_SimonT_

Ha ha! Sounds about right! No - unfortunately never lived in Wales. Spent a lot of time there though - & def not the valleys! I'm from Tunbridge Wells Daaaaarling! I was South East London born & bred though.
