I have completed week 7 and ran 3.5k in the 25 minutes! I feel so confident now that I will get to 5k not too long after graduating. It is a great feeling. Thank you to everyone for your support 😀

Well done you! Do you ache the next day after your exertions? All the best for your next runs.

Hi 61andtrying, thank you. Yes I do ache the next day but I am getting used to that! I am currently feeling it in my knees after this morning. It has normally worn off by day 2 as I I can go again.

I wonder if aching the next day ever stops as our muscles become used to running.

I wonder whether the aching muscles varies from run to run anyway. I am doing C25K for the second time following four months of illness, and felt very achy last night after W3R1. I don’t remember aching like that at all at any stage the first time round. ... so either I have holes in my memory, or my muscles know that they have just had their 59th birthday! 😄

and my muscles must know that I am somewhere between 61st and 62nd birthdays. I don't think I have mentioned my age so much since joining this forum! Well done managing to build up your fitness after illness. All the best for your next runs.

Make sure you are doing your post run stretches and put in extra exercise on your rest days... :)

Knee exercises too :)
