Well I did it!! It’s getting more difficult to find a long enough stretch of road to run on too. This morning I repeated the route I started with twice AND added in some side streets too.
The first ten mins as usual were hard work then I settled into my pace and it seemed to go quite quickly. I was really lucky with traffic today too they seemed to all stop just as I wanted to cross the road each time.
When I’m with my daughter we go down the Tarka Trail and run halfway then turn and run back and it’s a nice straight run but she doesn’t like me to run down there on my own especially as I tend to run early mornings or evenings. “ someone might jump out and grab you Mum, it’s very secluded.” “ yes dear.”
So I have to plod round the roads instead. Bless her!! If somebody is that desperate they have to grab an old biddy like me good luck to them I say.
Anyway 2 more to go and to all of you out there still to do week 9 ... YOU CAN DO IT .... I DID!! 😁🎉

Yeayayaya.. go you..great to have caring offspring isn't it...mine talks to me like I am the child
Very well done indeed...
I have this image of you running up and down the same street... but some of us... have all done make up time repeats... one of our most awesome runners poppypug , famous for running around a supermarket car park... and me.. ? Well, I have entertained the queues at the village railway crossing many a time
The badge is waiting and the champagne is ready for chilling
Ha no it’s not quite like that but it takes me about 14 mins from my house and then round the block that the park is in, so then twice round the block and then 1 circuit of the park is about 25 mins, now now to get 28 and then 30 I’m popping up side streets etc and back to bulk it out rather than going endlessly round the park ( its only 0.2 miles round there).
I might do the park run route while there’s no one else around sometime, but I like to be near home so not too many people see me walking home with my beetroot face
Lou , my face goes practically aubergine ! I once did a race on a very hot day and there was a St John’s Ambulance biker tracking me nearly all the way .
Haha i did a few funruns about 25 years ago ( they were about 11 miles from Bideford to Barnstaple... how did I think THAT was fun??). And one time I’d come 2nd in the over 40 ladies so the next year I was determined to beat this. someone told me bananas give you energy for a run. I ate about 4 the day before and had such a poorly tummy ache all through the run, got slower and slower and I ended up with a steward asking if I’d was ok to carry on as I was last and they were waiting to pack up.
My daughter calls me a fruit bat as I eat so much fruit anyway. I can’t walk past a bike with bananas in without nabbing one . I’m the same with raw veg too
