Knock knock! Why hello neighbour, grab your trainers it’s time! I’d seen him a few weeks ago and he said when I’d done the plan he’d love some help starting... so he’d had a week of grace... time to do this. We walked down to the local park where I have a circuit around some grass and flowers that I could walk around and easily keep up, it’s about 400m. Speed the walk up as we got there and I fire MJ up on his phone but muted... skip the warm up and “run” off he goes “slow” he looks confused “slower” and then just like that go... and he did. Walk time and he said he thought I was gonna kick his butt... would I? Six more like that, and then the last... ok, he asked for it... faster... faster... more speed... and walk, if you still can... that one hurt him 😂. Anyway he’s very pleased with himself... and we are booked in again for Thursday! No more butt kicking, I just wanted to show him why we go slow for when I’m not there. Quick shandy on the way back... told the barman to hold the lemonade though of course.
Best rest day ever... gonna have to start looking for the next recruit!
Nice to be able to run with someone, your neighbour seems to have enjoyed that run around the 400m local park, 400m is the exact circuit of an athletic track, so that's quite a coincidence for a runner to practice on. A rest day for me today as well. Tomorrow I am going to attempt to run another 5k, but this time around the official 5k route of our local 5K event which is what they call "A Santadash5K run" this year it is taking place on the 2nd December.
Cool... have fun on that. Yeah I found the circuit early on my journey... it’s like 412 metres I think, but close enough
