Thank goodness Wednesday is my rest day. It's forecast to be HOT ๐ ๐ฉ
Ran week 5 run 1 this morning. 3 x 5 minutes. ๐
I won't bang on about the weather after this post. This is basically how it will be until October/November. Every. Single. Day. Today very nearly was the death of me. I managed the run sequences fine but was waaaay overheated to the point of feeling faint. I am so disheartened. I love running in the park by the harbour. Need a new plan.
I live above a mall, which is beautifully air conditioned so I'm going to try that on Thursday for the 2 x 8 minute runs. I know I can do 8 minutes; I did 8 mins in a week 4 run on a cooler day. It just remains to be seen as to whether I get kicked out of the mall or asked to stop 'running'. ๐ข

Cor! Dee donโt like the look of those temperatures, Iโm guessing thereโs no shade at the park? Could you run with a water bottle and top up with the cold water provided at the park, do you run with a visor? Could you soak a headband and keep it wet. The idea of the air conditioned mall sounds good as long as they donโt think youโre a shoplifter and arrest you! Keep well hydrated on Thursday๐ค
lexi6 correct, no shade unfortunately. Yep, run with visor and think I will grab cold water at beginning of run, just to pour over me lol. The shops in the mall don't open until 10am (very civilised) so there shouldn't be too many people around if i go early. Will see how I feel in the morning as to whether I do that or park. Prob just need to condition myself to the heat and persevere outside. Dunno!
It looks exhausting. Go as slowly as you can whilst still moving. ๐ฐ๐ฐ
Think how much extra fitness you are gaining compared to us chilly folk. I was out at 06:00 this morning and was delighted because I could see my breath. You'll do it.๐
The last two runs have been exhausting, which is really effecting my confidence. Have no idea how I'm going to manage tomorrow. Need to sort out my head, it's just a bit of heat
There are a lot of people running early when I'm out (mainly locals, and mainly men) so I know it can be done. And they're running the whole time I've been walking/running. It will be good for my fitness overall, but I was starting with very little so feel I'm always on the back foot now. Perhaps I'll repeat some weeks.
Hahaha, I can't remember the last time I saw my breath! Probably the last time i was in the UK, in summer
Face it lovely, you live in a mad part of the world. Holy gosh that's seriously hot to be sprinting. ๐ Go with the mall option until they arrest you. We'll organise a whip round for bail and my wife and eldest have the legal qualifications to act as counsel...
Have you thought about digging an underground route?
Yes, it's nuts. And the rainy/typhoon season hasn't even started yet! Thank you sallenson , it's good to know I've got friends in high places. I may have to dig my way out of the brig
Thanks, Rob! You're so polite ... I just say it's bloody hot! I've looked at the Under Armour website but that didn't show much, so will need to visit them instore. But I'm also going to bite the bullet and buy some short running shorts *gasp*
I actually bought (short) shorts today! ๐จ๐คค These legs have never been out in polite society. What the hell is this running caper doing to me? They're not Heatgear type shorts, but shall report any chaffing if it happens. Stay tuned ๐ฒ
