Week 5 - it looks terrifying!

I've just finished Week 5 day 1 and assumed the other two runs would be the same, but there is a MASSIVE leap this week. 2 x 8 mins then a 20 mum run! Is it possible?

The work you have done so far has prepared you for these runs. You will be amazed that it will not be as hard as you are expecting. Just take it slowly. You will smash it.

It seems daunting, but all the work you have done so far is designed for this point. You’ll be surprised how much you’ve physically conditioned yourself and how achievable run 2 and 3 are.

Yes it is possible. Don't worry all the runs up until now have prepared you for it. Keep well hydrated 7 days a week go slow and slower again if needed. You can do it. 😊😊

Relax, run 3 of week 5 is mainly a psychological test, yes it's running/jogging/etc for 20 minutes but you couldn't run for 5 minutes before you started the program.

The program has been preparing your body for the longer runs, only you can prepare your head for them.

Trust in the program, believe in yourself and just take it slow and steady, you can and will do this.

Relax and don’t worry. The programme has prepared you for the run - the thing you won’t be prepared for is the grin that will stay on your face for hours afterwards! Stay hydrated this week as always, run slow, it’ll be fine 😊

I felt exactly the same but this forum encouraged me to keep going. I did and now only have one more run to graduate! I am a 57 year old who hadn’t run in 40 years so if I can do it you can too. Good luck.

Don't be frightened by it. This programme is really progressive. Advice from admins is spot on and helped me when I was in the same position not too long ago.

I'm betting you will do it, also feel amazing afterwards and you will probably not stop smiling for a whole day.

Let us know how you get on!
