So I’ve done runs 1&2 of week 8.

Run 1 was awful and I stopped about 6 times! Stupid as I was fine running the 25 mins with no stops last week.

Run 2 was a little better, 2 stops and only for about 40 seconds in total.

I’m running slow and steady but why do I have this mental block?

Run 3 in the morning, if I have to stop should I keep at the 28 mind until I am comfortable before going on to week 9?

Confused why I find week 8 so hard, I was hoping it would be the week I found my natural rhythm ...

I’d say stay at week 8 until you feel comfortable with it. I’ve just come back from W8R2 and definitely finding those extra 3 minutes tough. Couldn’t have run another step tonight so will see how the next one goes. If it’s still a struggle then I’ll do 28 minutes a couple more times. Good luck!

Thank you, not sure why it’s suddenly got hard? Maybe because it’s suddenly got warm??

That’s what I thought but when I ran tonight it wasn’t especially warm so I can’t even use that as an excuse! I find the time of day makes a difference. During the week after work is always harder than an early morning weekend run. Next run is Sunday morning so hopefully I won’t prove myself wrong!!

Maybe it’s “suddenly got hard” because you have come from 1 minute runs to 28 minute runs within 8 weeks!!

Remember how terrifying the 20 minute run looked when you had done W5R2? You are doing almost half as much again!

Well done for keep going. In your shoes I might stick on W8 for another week, but your call. Enjoy the next run.

It’s weird how our minds play tricks on us isn’t it! You can do 25 minutes because you did them last week so do them first really slowly and then only worry about the last 3 minutes when you come to them and by then you can think well I’ve done 25 so I can do another 3 and go absolutely slowly 🐌 if this makes sense 😂

I play tricks all the time when I’m running if I’m feeling really tired I think I’ll just keep going to the end of this song then I get to it and think ok then one more song and before I know it I’ve plodded to the end 🐌😊

I’ve also started listening to pod casts instead of music and I’m wondering if this has hindered me also
