Tomorrow is run day and in a moment of rare optimism and stupidity I just went and signed up for the local 5k Park Run! Well, I can always walk the last bit!....
I'm supposed to be running W5R2 but I figure if I'm feeling OK I might just push on and go for the whole W5R3 20minute thing and get it done, surged on by the huge crowds and to the applause of Dame Kelly Holmes who is also in the field!!

I signed up for park run 🏃 almost 7 weeks ago but still not got to my local one, I'm thinking I'll do my big w6 run there maybe.
What I would personally do though (just finished week 5 this morning) is walk a fair bit then start the run instead of just the 5 minute warm up I double it to 10 mins then extra cool down time and so far I've not had the calf pain etc I keep reading some people are struggling with.
Or maybe I just been lucky so far not to have the calf pain I'm not sure 😉
Juts run the run you should be running... warm up walk and then do the allotted time and walk the rest... The fastest way to the IC is by moving too quickly!!
Do not skip a run... please!
We all feel that we can do more or that everything is okay... but, the thing about hidden injuries is.. they are errr.....hidden!
PS
I know I sound like your mum... but we have seen folk come unstuck so many times!!!
