Some while ago I entered the Birmingham 5k run at Cannon Hill Park on September 12th. I know that is doable 'cos I do a parkrun most weekends.
But now I have entered the Worcester 10k the next weekend 20th September. So I have three months to get from "just reached 10k in training" to "running 10k like I enjoy it". And no dogs allowed - woohoo !
Photos will be taken. I'll be the tall guy in orange (both runs) if anyone wants to meet up

3 months is a long time! Think of where you were 3 months ago. You will be fine! I am doing Coombe Abbey (near Coventry) 10k on 28 june and haven't even got further than 8.5 yet. If I feel I need another race after the summer I may consider Worcester...
Thanks. I had meant to ho over and have a look at the grounds beforehand, but I don't think I have the time. I am quite looking forward to it and not taking it too seriously, i.e. just wabt to enjoy it and finish and will be quite happy to include a few short walking breaks along the way if required.
It will be fine. Not too hilly, a bit woody and running (probably) alongside water at times. The back drop of the Abbey should be pretty speculate too.
I've done something similar and signed up for the Salford 10k in September - I figured it would force me to get off my bum and complete the 3 training runs per week! Best of luck, we've got plenty of time
It sounds like you are already enjoying the prospect of the forthcoming runs. Having a goal should help your motivation. As you say you can already run the 10k distance so having the run on the horizon will certainly help your training.
I've entered my local 10km in September. I've managed 10km in my training twice so far. I'm finding that now I've actually covered the distance I can concentrate on getting a decent time. Hope it all works out for you!
Loads of glorious Summer weather to train in. You will be absolutely fine. Just remember, you will need hydration far more for 10K than 5.
