Time for a run

Two more early morning runs and a hot one to add into the mix.

Trying to make sure I get my 3 a week I set out again twice this week before I would normally think of even getting out of bed! My Tuesday run was over a route that I have done many times before, it gave a good walk before and not too much of a walk at the end leaving plenty of time to get home ready for the morning taxi duty!

My Thursday run was over a newer route and I was a bit concerned about the timing to complete in time for the morning taxi runs (needn't have worried). I use a tracker to work out my time and distance and it also gives me information on the number of steps per minute. It gives graphs showing lots of info and on my "cadence" it shows green when it reckons it is good and I barely ever see any green so I hatched a plan! I took to my run with a metronome app running in the background. It had the desired effect - lots of green much better cadence but it did next to nothing for my pace! Ho hum!

The weekend arrived and so did my longer run. Once again when I set off I was not quite sure how far I would go for so just left the house and ran! Immediately I knew I was wearing the wrong gear and should have settled for shorts! Wow was it hot.

Heading out along my now familiar canal towpath there was little or no shade and after a short time I was wishing I had brought water with me! Fortunately the return canal was in partial shade but when I spotted two runners carrying water bottles I was very tempted to ask .. nay .. plead for water!

Next run I will dress according to the weather maybe even carry a parasol! πŸ˜‰

Happy running everyone enjoy the weather while it lasts remember if you are in the UK .. it never normally lasts long!!

You did well Richard, warm weather running needs planning!

I ran at 7am this morning and needed shorts, vest, sun lotion, cap and sunnies.

I had the world to myself ..., whats not to love!

Trust me - I decided to have a bit of a later start and set out at 8:30 .. it might as well have been high noon!
