Barefoot on the Beach First Post Grad run

Ok, so having graduated from this amazing programme, I went straight off to a lovely retreat style holiday in Goa. I have been walking on the beach every day for 8 days and wondering if I could possibly do my first post grad run on it - all those people, very hot, cows and dogs to avoid etc etc. Anyway, as today is my last day it was now or never! So the obese tortoise (I think its turtles that are good in the sea) went for a run on the beach this afternoon. No shoes, which wasn't the plan but thats a long story, off I plodded after my 5 minute warm up - and I ran for 35 mins!! I probably didn't even cover 3km, I think I could have walked faster, but I did it! The 3 Week 9 runs were no myth! I am planning to continue doing 30-35mins, possibly up to 40 mins occasionally, until the end of July. I am hoping I will be chomping at the bit to do more by then!!! I can hope!

Wow, now that’s a truly memorable post-grad run. What next?!

I wonder if barefoot running works a new set of muscles?

I certainly felt some!! Luckily I narrowly avoided getting a blister. I think the slowest of slow paces made it feasible!
