Unforeseen benefits

My husband enjoys walking the coast paths around where we live in Cornwall. Up until a few weeks ago, if i went with him he would choose relatively flat terrain because i would be such a moaning minnie about having to climb steep slopes - i just got so out of breath. Yesterday we went for a brief ramble round St Agnes, which has some incredibly vertiginous slopes. To my astonishment i practically flew up what my app later told me was the equivalent of 24 flights of stairs.

What a difference 6 weeks makes!

That's brilliant Pippa (lovely view btw). Yes, it really makes a difference doesn't it! At the end of this month I'll be on a hiking holiday, and looking forward to doing some more demanding walks than I usual manage.

My "unforeseen benefits" include losing half a stone in the last four weeks (!), the last few holes of an 18-hole golf round are no longer a struggle, and yesterday I mowed both our lawns in one go - now that's never been heard of before :)
