Just finished my first session

I've decided to start this as I'm 51 in a couple of weeks, have a sedentary job, am overweight and unfit. I've also got high blood pressure and depression.

This may just be the thing I need to make the next 50 years healthier.

Here's hoping.

One thing I can pretty much guarantee (if you keep up with the plan) is that your mood will lift - most people report a real boost in mental health and energy. And... I’ll bet that your bp drops too👍 Good luck

Well done 👍

I've read/heard so much on running causing the "runners high" so hopefully this will help your depression tremendously.

I'm on week 4r2 tomorrow and I have never felt so good mentally & physically in my whole life (I'm 43)

I'm suddenly living for my weekly sessions and the natural high I'm getting from it totally hooked by first week to be honest 😊

Making the decision to start is the first step. It's made a difference to a lot of people's mental health.

Welcome! The programme is fantastic: trust the plan and you'll get more and more confident. Just make sure to run very slowly: you should be able to hold a conversation (or sing ;-). And don't forget to stretch after each run. On your rest days, you may also try some exercises from the Strength and Flex website:

If you haven't read it yet, I strongly advise you to read Iannod Truffe's FAQ post:

I look forward to reading your posts.

Congratulations on having made a great decision - loads of midlife non runners in this forum (me being one of them). You can do it! 🤸‍♂️

Well done! I’ve just done w2r1. Definitely harder than week one but doable with some mental grit! I’m 52 in a couple of weeks and have lost 5 stone in the past 2 years but as I have a sedentary job this c25k is an effort to keep the weight off and be a bit active at least.

Well done! The first one is the hardest. This program has changed my life. In 10 weeks I have gone from couch to 7k. I have a stressful job and this has helped me. The tough bit is forcing yourself to go running after a cr@p day at work when you’re exhausted, but I have found that I set my 3 days each week and stick to them rigidly, no excuses. You’ll love this plan. Just remember to slow down and slow down again. You can do this! 💪🏽
