It's probably not alot to anyone else, but for someone like me it is! I haven't excericised in years! I tried the week one run one on Monday but couldn't complete it. I wanted to just give up but I somehow got out there today in this boiling hot weather and completed the first run. I jogged for each part instead of just the first three parts like last time. I'm sweating buckets but so glad I did it! I jogged more slowly thanks to your advice and so I actually could do each 60 seconds. Sorry for rambling I'm just pleased lol. Can I ask does it get any easier though ππ«π
I did the first run: It's probably not alot to... - Couch to 5K
I did the first run
Well done βΊBelieve me, it gets better, the first few runs (or weeks!) are anxious because it's all so new, our self confidence is rarely where it should be and control of speed, pace, time almost nil βΊ
However....the combination of the programme and all the great advice and support of the Forum will see you through. One stage, one week, one run, slow and steady at a time βΊ
Yes it gets easier (and yet harder too)! Well done for persevering.
It will get easier! Make sure you don't run too fast and really try to deep breathe steadily - makes all the difference. Well done for completing, fantastic! πππ
Well done with what you did today take it slow and you should have no problems I did C25K about 2 years ago and it has helped me quite a lot as I had an operation for a brain tumour(GBM4) in December so can walk and today managed 6km in 58 minutes .
Well done! Yes, it gets easier, but then some sessions feel harder than others but all feel great on completion!! ππ
Hi and welcome. If you haven't seen the link below, have a read, lots of good information. Just relax, don't put pressure on yourself and you will (mostlyπ) have fun. Looks a good place to run.
Well done for getting out there! Donβt give up it will get better and better ππ
It gets easier! My 3rd run this week was soooooo much easier than the first!
We'll done!
This programme consists of stepping stones. Your body will adapt over the 9 weeks.
Never worry about going too slowly, as long as it is an effort, you're improving yourself.
Next one should feel easier now that you know what you can do and your body has started adapting.
As always, rest days between runs and drink lots of water.

Check this out and follow the programme...slow and steady.. it doesn't get easier..YOU get stronger.. with each and every single run
Make sure as the weather gets warmer you are hydrated , every day..not just run days
Not sure it gets easier exactly, but with every run and every week your body gets stronger and your belief grows that you really can do this. You can, and you will, just go at your own pace and keep going.
I'm on week 6 run 1 next. I totally struggled to run for 60 seconds during the first week. Today I managed my first long run continuously for 20 minutes and I did it but at my usual pace of a snail π!!! Or I would not have been able to finish! π€£ well done you
So pleased for you ! Well done what an achievement as so easy to throw the towel in but you persevered in all this heat .. Amazing π
Well done - I did my first run yesterday too!!! Keep up the good work ππ
