When hydration matters...

So, back in la Bella Italia. First run today

In Summary :-

12km done

One change of clothing as it was too warm (I apologise)

I’d forgotten what hills are like... and they seem to go upwards

Guess who should have drunk a lot more water yesterday?

This is why I didn’t ...

Another life lesson learned!

Happy for your warmer weather and envy of sun! Your run sounds lovely and solo long, wow! Go you!

So sorry to hear about your water issue ;( Can you somehow not pay for the bill as it was some kind of pipe damage? Don't know how it works in Italy. Maybe worth asking / talking, if you haven't already. All my thoughts are with you!

in reply to IgaT

I so wish we could not pay, as we are talking a bill northwards of £2000. But it was our fault and the problem was 50 metres from the water metre on our patio, so.. we just have to suck it up! Last year a burglary... this year, the water - maybe Italy is sending us a message in advance of Brexit!

Anyway, it’s done - no point in crying over spilt water...

How’s your running going now - are you feeling better?

I wish you no more unpleasant surprises. I love your attitude! You are amazing!

My running is having another short break, but longer than expected. Not sure about running this weekend, but I've set up my way too early alarm clock on Monday. It will be rerun of W7R1. I remember once we were at the same week o the programme and now you're running 12k (wow!) while I'm still struggling with week 7 :P Sorry, I'm a bit moody only 1 run a week for past 2 weeks.

Let's enjoy every step we do :) especially this in running shoe.

Just got back from this morning’s run but don’t fret, you’ve had loads to contend with health wise, but you’re still committed and going for it. Many others would have given up by now. Early alarm call for Monday - that’s grit, I am still a teenager when it comes to getting up!

Getting up when I don't have to happens after 9am - so I'm teenager as well ;)

I know that my energy levels, motivation etc are the highest in the morning when my brain is still in deep sleep and has no idea what's happening :P

Long time ago I decided that programme is more of addition. I am going for a run and that's all what matters. In the end my running now won't differ much from the one after I will finally graduate ;)

in reply to IgaT

yes and you’re so right, doing it is what matters, the distances/challenges etc are not always the be all and end all. its better to do it and enjoy it for its sake than to commit to challenges/distances/times and hate every minute...

Oh my daughter lives in Italy - lake Garda I just love it! Maybe I will be running there in June!

in reply to Pancakes

She’s further North than us, but even so it’ll be warm there and running in the heat is another skill you have to learn, but I hope you manage a run and enjoy it up there, the scenery is just so beautiful

Wow, Jan, I’m so jealous of your warm weather but not jealous of your water bill. It sounds horrendous. The runnning’s good though. Well done. X

in reply to Razouski

Thanks Gill, It’s nice to be out in sun and little/no pollution, but the water well what on earth can you say? Stupid tart syndrome is definitely catching and very infectious... Avoid me like the plague!

Oh no! How awful to return to that :-( but how wonderful to see proper sunshine again! Keep positive!:-)

in reply to SuzyKK

Well you have to laugh don’t you? Having my post run shower I was soaping up with the water off and then doing a quick rinse. I have a feeling this is what is known as ‘shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted’. Thanks for the empathy though!

Oh no Jan??!! That’s absolutely pants!! Daddycav is a plumbing, heating & gas engineer (& slightly anal where all of these elements are concerned!!!)...we go to France for 5-6 weeks in the summer & that is the first thing he does...while I’m packing the car & sorting the kids, he’s dealing with the water!!!! Lovely run though eh? Lucky you in the warmth, although today has proved perfect running conditions for me! Just one thing though...were you running along whilst performing the clothes change coz that would get anyone in the area a tad excited I’m sure??!!! Good to read one of your posts again x

in reply to Mummycav

Yes what idiots we were... we have make an appointment to see the water company and throw ourselves on their mercy...

And no I wasn’t stripteasing - although -who knows it may become necessary to raise funds

We could all do runs for the ‘pay Jans water bill’ fund???!!! X

in reply to Mummycav

It has to be said we don’t warrant that much courtesy - we were plonkers. End of!!!!

But I love your generosity though X What a cavtastic person you are
