Can I count tea in my water total?

It would really help if I could! ☕️

Yes. Not sure you can count alcohol. But any other drink that's mostly water will hydrate you.

Ha, I think alcohol cancels out all other hydration...

But everyone says tea counts even though it contains caffeine.

The caffeine thing is a myth I believe. If you drink strong espresso it will dehydrate you. But an ordinary cup of coffee contains more than enough fluid to counteract the caffeine.

Water is the best source of hydration and is in your food. Yep tea, and coffee, counts as they are mainly water. Caffeine is a diuretic but the amounts in drinks isn't too bad (unless taken strong and virtually intravenously😀). It's when they're taken by the spoonful - someone must do it - that it doesn't help with hydration.

I really hope so. What I try to do do is alternate between a cup of tea and a glass of water. Some days it works and others, well let's just say that I can't even look at a drop of water let alone a glass💧!!

Although tea contains only about one-third the caffeine found in coffee, Caffeine is a diuretic and stimulates urination, and you can actually get dehydrated by drinking too much tea or coffee -- so take it easy.

Hope so. I try and drink 1 ltr of water and and make the rest with normal tea, green tea and the odd Pepsi max. I don't feel dehydrated :)

It's my only fluid most days, tho' most people would call it gnats p** rather than tea!!

That's interesting, thank you Floss. It's what I've always thought - as a tea drinker....I do need to wee after, but only when the liquid has passed through so to speak, no more than if it was water...
