About to start week 4. So far...channeling Japanese slow runner, ✅; doing low impact exercise on rest days ✅ taking extra rest days when required ✅; doing post run 30 sec stretches ✅; hydration....
Know I need to hydrate more. I am trying, I’ve read the brief, but just not a big fan of water. I also don’t want to be drinking high sugar content alternatives. Any suggestions please?
Also, are you guys sipping all day, every day to make up the volume? I sometimes like water with sliced cucumber in it and years ago I went through a phase of drinking hot water. Any more inspiration would be much appreciated. Thanks very much! 😀

i have a bottle that says what time if day you should be drinking it by, meaning you’d drink about 2 litres a day. i keep it in the fridge so it’s nice and cold and sip every time i need to. seems simple but having a routine of filling it up at a certain time helps!
Thanks mollyox123, that’s a brilliant idea! Did you get it online or did you mark the bottle yourself? Also, how much are you sipping each time, if you don’t mind me asking? 😊
Thanks mrrun, yeh I definitely need to get into more of a routine, so it just becomes second nature. It’s really not enjoyable trying to force 2 x 500ml of water down when you realise you’re short on your day’s hydration goal! 😬
Yeah... just sips all day every day, of room temperature water... takes a while to form the habit though. I also partake in tea, and after a run maybe a cider (when I can get the real stuff) as that doesn’t dehydrate me like other similar beverages which I only partake in on occasion... usually “Friday” 🤣
Like your style UnfitNoMore! 😂 Yeh, I’m a bit of a coffee addict which I know has to change. I think I’m going to relegate my caffeine to first thing in the morning and then I’ll have no choice but to drink healthier alternatives throughout the day. Thanks! 👍
I do both side by side... sipping starts before the kettle has boiled. Caffeine can be used for a bit of a boost on race days apparently, but as it involves abstinence for a few days beforehand, I’ve never tried it!
Wow, impressed with your dedication, sipping even before the kettle’s boiled! 😳 But totally get your lack of race day experience. 😂 Luckily have no plans to race......... ever. 😁
