Well that was strangely fun. After 20 years of nil exercise other than the leisurely dog walks I finally dragged myself off the couch with help from my 15yr old son and Weimaraner.
Hoping that I can make it to run 2, feel a bit sick to be honest and my right leg is sore.
Hoping to find some motivation on here from others success stories. Tell me it gets easier!!

I had no experience with running or exercise. I started in early January, ran around 3km on my 55th birthday in February and ran through the finishing tape in March.
Not easy, some hiccups along the way but I did it with the help of people on here.
I remember some of my first minute long runs on holiday in Scotland. Running by the sea in wind and rain and crying because I was so thrilled I’d run 2 minutes non stop. Great feeling.
You've made the biggest step, getting off the couch. There are so many great and positive stories so that it's difficult to choose. However it will be your story that is the most important.
I started back in November. My first run could at best be described as falling with style, however I now regularly do park runs in a reasonable time and spend 1.5 to 2 hours per week running, mainly exploring the area around me.
I've lost weight, got more energy, stopped snoring and made new friends. On the negative side I now have a wardrobe of fluorescent Lycra and Socks which have L and R on them.
Read this.. and then take it as slow as you like Welcome and well done for beginning this..it can be tricky when we start something new, but each and every run makes us stronger...
Warm up really well and go steadily, especially with an energetic dog and a youngster ( never work with children or animals:))
It may not get easier..but it will be worth it Keep posting
You've done the toughest bit! You've left the couch and you've done it with a teenage audience. You can't turn back now. And you can't let the dog down!
Have a day or two off and do it again. A couple of weeks from now, when 5 minute runs feel easy, you'll be looking forward to longer runs and graduation and you'll be proud of yourself.
You will amaze yourself; I know because so many people on here do!!
Today is my first runniversary - one year since I started C25K. I take a selfie after every run and what a difference a year makes!! I still run three times per week, one of those is a 10k, I have lost 2 stone, I have turned my stress levels around. I am so glad I took up this running lark.
Every time I have got out of bed to go for a run over the last year has been part of the journey, even the tough times have been worth it... your journey will be different. But when you have completed the programme you will know it was worth it!
