10 things I know now but I didn't know before C25k

1. Friendly, supportive forums exist.

2. You can get gloves that are conductive so you can use your phone without taking them off

3. Running socks have a left and a right

4. Road shoes are excellent for sliding on muddy trails

5. You can buy trail shoes to avoid 4 above

6. The extra weight of an iPhone 7 over a 6 can prompt a wardrobe malfunction in the bagging area if you stash them in the back of black lycra leggings.

7. I can actually run further than the end of my street

8. Black Lycra bottoms, black top, black gloves and a black beanie doesn't actually make you a ninja runner

9. did I mention the one about friendly forums?

10. The stories on here tell me that everyone can do this, no matter what size shape, or level of fitness. We can all get up off the couch and disappear for 30 minutes and be the better for it.

So true, although I reckon number 8 is not true - last week as I left my first spin class on a spa day a group of similarly black clad women entered the studio for the aerobics class. They were definitely ninjas even though they couldn't do the aerobics for toffee. Neither could I, although to be honest I was only watching while I did my work out in the gym.

Dressed in all that black, you are definitely a ninja.

I would add another Thing I know Now But Didn't Know Before C25k:

11. Running outside can be really enjoyable (who'd have thought it?) ;-)

I think I might do one about when I've smiled from running or a C25k related incident

I’ve done 6 before! It was a very unpleasant run. Made me buy a running belt for the summer. In winter my phone goes in my jacket pocket. We live and learn!

Great post! Having bought two pairs of socks that are left and right, it now takes me longer to get dressed - unless of course I wear my toe socks, in which case I can double the time again :D

The socks!!! 😂 I didn’t know that!! I’ve just looked at my socks & I’m now wondering if I have ever worn them on the correct feet.....maybe my next run will be even better!! 😂😊

Initially I thought it stood for Regular and Large!. Assistant in shop said "try the

other left" which is when I twigged what was going on. He did then put me onto a really good waffle shop so I forgave him.
