W9R1 done but...

Arrived in Japan yesterday and after a good night sleep and feeling refreshed, headed for my first run of week 9. The surroundings were perfect, late afternoon run around the local park amongst weeping willows and cherry blossoms.

However unbeknown to me the app had paused but I had no idea when it happened. All I knew was that I had 5 minutes left to run when it did. I switched it back on and did not struggle to finish. At the end of the run I remembered that map my run was running in the background and in total had run for 39 minutes, covering 4.4k. Mixture of pleased and concerned as it is a good distance but now my left shin is killing me when I put weight on it. Hot bath soon to see if it helps .

I really like the sound of adding salts to the bath. Although it’s 10PM the shops are still open. Forget C25K, How to say magnesium salt in Japanese. Now that’s a challenge. 😂😂 I might need to enlist the help of some expat friends tomorrow

What a beautiful place to run! Congratulations for keeping going despite the app pause. I'm sure your tibia will have forgiven you by tomorrow.

Really spoilt for beautiful locations to run in Tokyo. Lots of parks and also tracks along the river and the cherry blossoms are out. Hoping to try different runs while here. Will try and post some pictures.

Gorgeous location! Well done. A bit of a massage will help if available or a roller.

What a beautiful place and you are so lucky to have seen the Sakura too. Hope the shin is okay and graduating in Japan - how amazing is that?
