I finally made it! I graduated in January and I've been running 3 times a week but never getting past 4.2K. Anyway it's my birthday in a couple of weeks and I decided I would build up to 5K by then. Last Sunday I went a**e over t*t after 1K and although I got up and struggled on, I had to give up after 2.2K. I went out very cautiously on Tuesday, and despite a slightly sore right leg, managed the usual 4K. I've been very tired this week, because I've had a busy time at work (and the clocks changed, of course), I had no great hopes for today, but suddenly something clicked and I realised that 5K was just a psychological leap. I planned a longer route (started earlier and combined two favourites), and the first (toxic!) 10 mins were hard, but because I was aiming for my usual finish line, I DID IT! Oh, and the other thing that helped, like throughout so much of the C25K, was that I wanted to be able to post this message here.
Thank you all for being there.
I'm going to try to do 5K every run till my birthday and then move on to Laura's thing (forgotten what it's called but works on speed as well as stamina).
With love
Lizz
P.S. When I posted the run map it had data - don't know where it's gone, but I took 39mins and 50 seconds.

It is all in the mind and 40 minutes of running. That's Impressive and will stand you in good stead as you edge towards 10k etc.. Don't fret about the pace that will come in time. Soon 5k will be just your warm up.
Yes! Well done!! Hope you will celebrate it with a nice cup of whatever you want It's like a second graduation! Did you say you want to run 5K at every run? No obligation, you can do 2X30mn and then a longer run for 5K; and enjoy yourself!
Congratulations Lizz. Well done for getting to 5k and equally for maintaining the 3 runs per week. I’m so impressed 🤩Lovely to hear from you. Take care x
