Disappointed runner ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜”

Disappointed runner ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜”

Today was the first run I failed, must admit I am disappointed with myself!

The first 5 mins run, not a problem, done!

The second 5 min run, started off up a slight incline, itโ€™s only slight but seems to go on FOREVER (slight exaggeration ๐Ÿ™„) I stopped for about 5 seconds part way through, carried on, and then stopped 60 seconds from the end as I found myself part way up a cobbled hill and my legs just didnโ€™t want to work ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ I have run up both inclines before and not struggled like I had today!

The last 5 min run was a road run and was a lot better.

I did not feel good at the end of the run! The only good thing from this run is the picture โ˜€๏ธ

Next run will be Wednesday, and I will be completing this run !!! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ Iโ€™m going to stick to the road and see if that helps.

Any more advice you lovely people have is more than welcome ! Xx

Not a failure, but a practice run. The 'f' word isn't allowed here. You ran - you did a lot of running in fact. And you can perfect this run when you go out again. Best of luck! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Itโ€™s a big jump as itโ€™s an extra 7 minutes running altogether as well as the increases in the blocks of running times. Any incline is going to be a pig on that first five minutes. You did it though, the second 5 minutes, in one go so you now know you can definitely do it!! Definitely, definitely not a fail!! Well done ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Biggest advice: THIS WAS NOT A FAILURE! (We do not have those๐Ÿ˜) this was a mere practice run... and you know the best thing about those???... the body doesnโ€™t know the difference, so the muscles etc still get stronger! Yippee!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿคฃ

Lots of reasons for a run not going to plan and itโ€™s all a huge learning curve. It could be that you started off too quickly (without intending to) or maybe you werenโ€™t hydrated enough (Remember, hydration is a 7 day thing, not just a run day thing ๐Ÿ˜)Maybe you would have benefitted from an extra rest day?? Or maybe, it was just โ€œone of those runsโ€ and it will not happen again. The upshot is; donโ€™t dwell on it, or worry about it. Chalk it up to experience and onwards and up. Best of luck next time ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Getting out and running is a good thing. The running you did has improved your fitness which is a good thing. Running is as much in your head as in your legs. You'll smash it on Wednesday.

Doesn't sound like a fail, to me it sounds like training & progression! No advice as I'm not at your level yet, but anticipate there will be days my legs can and days my legs can't.

Don't dwell on what you see as the negative...sounds like you actually had a really good run, with a challenging path in lovely fresh air & best of all ๐ŸŒžx

Chin up we all have bad days. Like others are saying itโ€™s a paratice so put it to the back of your head. I reckon youโ€™re nail it next time so good luck and stay positive ๐Ÿ‘

The 'f ' word as JoP61 says.. is banned...a blip.. a practice...:)

Head out again.. steady and slow... and if you are struggling, then slow down even more:)

Think how far you've come since you started - five minutes then would have seemed a triumph! You'll be fine next time (and maybe do it the easy way by not running up a cobbled hill!).

I know that feeling of disappointment, but we are all allowed our off days sometimes!

Good luck when you try again, I bet youโ€™ll smash it!!
